Gene Blackburn, P.E.
Gene is the founder and Principal Engineer of Gene Blackburn Engineering. He has 40 years of experience in various electrical and electronic engineering disciplines. He served in the U.S. Navy as an Electronics Technician and subsequently spent 28 years with Georgia Power Company, retiring as a Senior Engineer. During his tenure with Georgia Power Company, he specialized in substation control, metering, and relaying design, and in the specification and application of transformers and circuit breakers. Gene holds an Associate degree in Electrical Engineering Technology from Southern Polytechnic State University, and BS and MS degrees in Physics from Georgia State University. Gene is a Registered Professional Engineer in Georgia and Alabama.
Richard Craver, P.E.
Richard is a Senior Engineer with Gene Blackburn Engineering. Richard also has 40 years of experience in Electrical Engineering, and is retired from Georgia Power Company. At Georgia Power, Richard designed substation control schemes, served as a substation test engineer, and worked in the area of substation data acquisition and computer control. Richard has also been employed with other consulting engineering organizations primarily in the areas of commercial and institutional electrical design. Richard holds a Bachelor of Electrical Engineering Technology from Southern Polytechnic State University. Richard is a Registered Professional Engineer in Georgia and Alabama.
Matt Blackburn is an Engineer II with Gene Blackburn Engineering. Matt has design experience in substation control and data acquisition applications as well as experience in instrumentation applications for boilers and water treatment equipment. Matt holds a Bachelor of Mechanical Engineering from Georgia Tech.
